The School of Dance experience in the ASU Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts is about discovering and exploring your creative potential in a multifaceted learning environment. This layered experience emphasizes three intersecting areas of focus that bridge theory and practice: the artist experience, the cross-cultural experience, and the socially engaged experience. These areas weave together key learning strategies of self-reflection, community interaction and the study of dance in diverse contexts and through diverse frames, which shape the curricular structure and provide an educational approach for developing contemporary dance practitioners.
