Registration for 2008 summer sessions is now open. There is a variety of courses offered through the ASU Herberger College Department of Dance. You may choose from a number of five-week or eight week sessions.
Eight-week session:

Five-week sessions:
June 2 - July 4
July 7 - Aug. 8
If you are a Herberger College student and have questions about what to take, you may make an appointment with a Herberger College advisor. Make an appointment now. Otherwise, check with your advisor from your ASU program.

The classes listed below serve as a guide to summer class options. Most classes have specific enrollment requirement. Please consult the ASU Schedule of Classes for the most updated information. Some classes are offered online. In the schedule of classes, you need to select online as the location to view online courses or select all campuses to view all of your options.
DAH 101: Intro to Dance
Learn about dance as creative expression and a performing art. Explore history, philosophy, technique and terminology of ballet, modern dance, jazz and other forms influenced by Western civilization. Requires movement experiences in the studio. (Internet – General Studies HU, G)
DAH 201: Dance in World Cultures
Study dance cultures from a global perspective. Requires movement experiences in the studio. (Internet – General Studies HU, G)
DAN 130: Topics
These courses cover a variety of topics of immediate or special interest. Topics change each semester based on faculty and student interest. Topics offered over the summer: Jazz I, Ballet I and Modern I.
DAN 194: Topics
These courses cover a variety of topics of immediate or special interest. Topics change each semester based on faculty and student interest. Topics offered over the summer: Hip Hop I, Pilates/Yoga, Latin/Swing/Ballroom, Oriental/Belly Dance I.
DAN 434: Technique and Theory of Modern Dance
Love modern dance? Prepare yourself in the performance and comprehension of professional-level modern dance technique. This course is six hours a week.
DAN 494: Topics
These courses cover a variety of topics of immediate or special interest. Topics change each semester based on faculty and student interest. Topics offered over the summer: Philosophy and History in China, Chinese Dance in China and Tai Chi Chuan in China.
DAN 499: Individualized Instruction
Provides an opportunity for original study or investigation in the major or field of specialization on an individual and more autonomous basis. Neither a substitute for a catalog course nor a means of taking a catalog course on an individual basis. Requires application well in advance of regular registration with your advisor, an advisor's signature, and approval by both the instructor with whom you will work and the chair of the department offering the course.
